Catastrophic Disposal of Waste in Our Towns
Littering is a major environmental problem in Njombe-Penja, Buea Municipality and Cameroon as a whole. Littering has a has negative impacts on our health, well-being, and economy. It pollutes our air, water and soil. It also attract pests, diseases and make our towns and cities look dirty and unsafe.
Causes.
There are a number of factors that contribute to littering including
1) lack of public awareness and education
2) lack of enforcement of littering laws
3) convenience culture and social norms.
Solutions
There are a number of things that can be done to reduce littering including;
1) public awareness and education campaigns
2) effective enforcement of littering laws
3) more trash cans, and social norms campaigns.
4) Individuals can also help by disposing of their trash properly, picking up litter when they see it, and talking to others about littering.
Conclusively, waste littering can be stop through the public awareness and the enforcement of laws in relation to managing waste.
